360s: a tool to improve business performance

Many businesses are missing a trick by not using 360s – and if they do, not using them effectively.  

A common challenge for 360s is overly generous feedback from peers and direct reports. Therefore, it’s hard to get a true picture that provides evidence to build effective development plans, support the exiting of staff who aren’t performing and identify future stars.

  1. 360s can be triggered by employees at any point through the year. On-demand 360s allow employees to initiate feedback whenever it’s most relevant to them. This spreads the workload for reviewers, boosts take-up and delivers better value.  

  2. We tailor questions to different management levels and functions, ensuring relevance and precision.  

  3. Traditional scales of how well people are performing can be replaced by action-orientated scales which identify what they need to do more of or change how they do it. Crucially we separately uncover which items are most important for the employee to work on.  

The subsequent results help produce improvement plans that identify the top three priorities for an individual and the outcome is that managers can identify what is important for their role and are clear as to the action they need to take.
